Here are some of the technologies he has introduced to our Chino Hills, CA dental office that have improved the level of care we provide to our patients.

Digital X-Rays

Many patients wonder if dental X-rays are really necessary. After all, if your teeth feel fine, why should you pay for dental X-rays? And what about radiation?

At Smiling Hills Dental, we have incorporated digital X-rays into our diagnostic and preventive dental treatments in order to provide you with more accurate diagnoses and earlier treatment options.

Digital X-rays are extremely safe. They emit up to 90 percent less radiation than traditional film X-rays while providing higher resolution and more versatile imaging.

As with digital photography, we can use our in-room monitors to zoom in on a questionable area and reach a diagnosis. This was not possible with old-fashioned film X-rays. We can also adjust brightness and contrast in order to get a better look.

Digital X-rays are a small investment in your oral health that pay for themselves over and over. They are extremely safe, and we only take the necessary number of X-rays to rule out common dental conditions such as decay, bone loss, and damaged teeth.

Digital Panoramic X-Rays

Individual X-rays are great for diagnosing problems with single teeth. A panoramic X-ray helps us see the big picture when it comes to your oral health. We can monitor your bite, jaw joints, and bone levels as well as check for certain types of cysts and tumors.

Panoramic imaging also helps us plan treatment for dental implants, orthodontics, and wisdom tooth extractions. Since they are digital, they are safe, just like our bitewings.

Panoramic X-rays are a full horizontal image of all of your teeth and jaw bones. We can identify certain biological landmarks such as sinuses, as well. 

Intraoral Camera

Because it is difficult for you to see into your own mouth, it can be hard to imagine what a cracked tooth might look like.

Using an intraoral camera, we can snap a digital photograph inside your mouth and immediately bring it up on our in-room monitors. This can help you see exactly what we see. Our hope is that you will gain a better understanding of your oral conditions and treatment options. 

We can also send intraoral pictures to insurance companies for documentation of dental conditions. By storing these images in your digital chart, we can use them for comparison over time to monitor changes in your oral health.
